ELECTION DAY - GO OUT AND VOTE
Over the past week we’ve discussed on this website the issues that concern Save the RAH Party.
• Avoiding the unnecessary unsustainable commitment to $1bn+ a year
• Providing world class facilities at the RAH on Frome Rd by completing the work interrupted by the Rann government
• Retaining the mix of hospital/university/research/dental hospital/laboratories on one site
• Preserving the complete spectrum of medical services in SA’s most respected hospital.
• Rebuilding y finishing the job started in 2001.
That can ONLY BE DONE BY A STRONG VOTE FOR Save the RAH.
None of our candidates live in a vacuum - there are other policy areas we have not discussed here
• Return of local control by appointment of Hospital Health Boards with the authority and resources to serve their community appropriately. Especially important with possible Federal takeovers.
• The major Health challenge anywhere today is the provision of proper and dignified facilities for Mental Health patients. Solutions involve other policy areas Public Housing, Respite Care Supported Accommodation, - Save the RAH does NOT have all the answers except we do know what the problem is and nothing will be solved if we don’t make a start.
• Complex public policy needs a competent independent resourced Public Service . PS Reform should begin at home by appointing talented South Australians to head departments.
To make a comprehensive policy statement on the morning of the election is a bit rich But rou can see the trend.
Yesterday Save the RAH turned up at the Premier’s final Press Conference held at the back of the Convention Centre. We were joined by other protestors, especially the proponents of the Motor Sport Park at Gillman. You may have seen us on Television. (my knuckles were the ones supporting “er don’t trust you Rann”) What we heard there was nothing new – spin, accusations against the Liberals – what was disappointing was that the press corps sis not challenge wnything. Eg Save the RAH on Friday raised the fact that the Railyard project did not include the clean up of the site, (Adv P8) no one followed that up, no one was asking Mike Rann what happened to his Adelaide Oval project, or how much it was going to cost in annual payments for the railyards. Is everybody just worn out and bored.
There is still something positive you can do
TODAY VOTE 1 SAVE THE RAH
